Stelle Ciccone is an American-Malawian celebrity daughter. In fact, she’s one of the most popular celebrity kids in the world. She was born in 2012.

Stelle is the adopted daughter of famous pop star icon, Madonna. Madonna adopted Stelle back in 2017 from an orphanage home in Malawi.

You’re probably wondering, what’s Stelle Ciccone’s full story? How did she end up in an orphanage and get adopted by Madonna?

In today’s article, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about Stelle Ciccone. Keep on reading to find out more about her story.

Stelle Ciccone’s First Years

Stelle Ciccone and her twin sister, Estere, were born in 2012 in Malawi. Malawi is in southeastern Africa. It’s one of the least developed countries in the world.

Their biological mother, Patricia, passed away soon after she gave birth to the beautiful twin sisters due to surgical complications. Their biological father, Adam Mwale, was a farmer.

Adam Mwale and Patricia already had five kids before having the twins. He couldn’t take care of the twins at that young age, and he was financially in a bad situation.

So, the father decided to put his daughters in the Home of Hope, which is an orphanage home outside Lilongwe, the Malawian capital.

As harsh as this decision may sound, it actually happens a lot in developing African countries.

However, this was a blessing in disguise. Not long after that, Madonna met the beautiful twins, Stelle and Estere Mwale, and decided to adopt them. They were only four years old at that time.

The Adoption Process of Stelle and Estere

Madonna had adopted two other kids from Malawi before adopting Stelle and Estere. She adopted David Banda in 2006 and Mercy James in 2009.

The adoption process isn’t typically easy in Malawi. That’s because if you want to adopt a child in Malawi, you need to be resident in the country for at least 18 months before the adoption.

Madonna faced many problems due to this issue. She even lost an attempt to adopt a child from Malawi once.

So, when it was time to adopt Stelle and Estere, she made sure everything was going smoothly and didn’t release any statements until the entire adoption process was over.

Some people claim that the adoption process was facilitated for Madonna. That led the public to talk badly about the process, as the first two adoptions were badly managed.

She posted a picture of Estere and Stelle on her Instagram account and wrote the following caption: “I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family”.

Moving to the U.S. With Madonna

Madonna took the twins back with her to the U.S. after finishing the adoption process. The process was officially finalized after they spent 12 months with their mom in New York, U.S. Madonna was happy and relieved that they had become a family.

However, the father claimed that he was under the impression that Madonna was only fostering the kids. He said that he had no idea the twins had permanently moved to the U.S.

Whether the father knew the adoption was permanent or not, he and his brother-in-law signed the adoption paper and agreed to everything in court.

Meeting the New Family—Madonna’s Children

The pop star legend has two biological children whom she shares with Guy Ritchie; the 21 years old Rocco Richie, and the 16 years old David Banda.

She also has a 25-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, whom she shares with Carlos Leon. Additionally, Madonna has another adopted daughter, Mercy. She’s now 15 years old.

Madonna as a Mother

Madonna is an extremely successful icon. She is one of the best-selling artists of all time. She has sold more than 300 million records to this day.

The queen of pop is a caring mother. She loves her family and appreciates them very much. You can even tell by the pictures she shares on her social media platforms.

Moreover, Madonna stated in an interview with Ellen that she fell into the deepest depression when her eldest daughter, Lourdes Leon, had to leave for college.

Furthermore, Madonna throws the best birthday parties for her kids. For Stelle and Estere’s 8th birthday, she threw a lavish birthday party. They had an impromptu dance party on a tennis court. The children looked extremely happy and joyful.

“What I am Most THANKFUL for! My Children have led me down roads and opened doors I never imagined I’d walk through,” — Madonna.

Stelle and Estere love their mom, and they enjoy her music. In 2019, they took part in Madonna’s tour, Madam X. They were backup dancers alongside their sister, Mercy.
